CONFIRMED:

EQUATOR: Suzuki's new pickup truck is a rebadged Nissan Frontier. The Equator will offer regular and crew cabs (the latter in long- and short-bed configurations), 4-cylinder or V6 power, and six airbags.

FORENZA: Discontinued.

GRAND VITARA: Previously available only with a V6, the Grand Vitara SUV gets a 2.4 liter 166 hp 4-cylinder engine for 2009. A new 3.2 liter V6 replaces the 2.7 liter engine; it produces more power (230 hp vs. 185) and gets better fuel economy. The Grand Vitara also gets freshened exterior and interior styling and standard rear disc brakes. V6 4WD models get a new hill descent control system.

MID-SIZE SPORT SEDAN: Suzuki has announced a new sporty 4-door that will go on sale in 2009 as a 2010 model. No name has been announced, but the new car is expected to resemble the Kizashi 3 concept car shown at the 2008 New York Auto Show.

RENO: Discontinued.

SX4: A new base-model SX4 sedan slots in beneath the SX4 Sport. The hatchback (known as the SX4 Crossover) is now available with front-wheel-drive, which should increase fuel economy compared to the all-wheel-drive version. Front-drive SX4 Crossovers get a larger fuel tank to increase range. SX4 Sport and front-drive SX4 Crossover models get a standard navigation system with an optional module that allows it to access real-time data such as traffic, weather conditions, movie showtimes and local fuel prices. Note: See "rumored" section below for more on the 2009 SX4.
XL7: The base model and all 5-passenger variants have been dropped. A new 6-speed automatic transmission increases fuel economy, and all XL7s get a self-leveling rear suspension.

RUMORED:

SWIFT: The Swift is a sporty hatchback, slightly smaller than the SX4, that Suzuki currently sells in Europe, Asia and other world markets. Suzuki is reportedly planning to bring the Swift to the US for the 2011 model year.

SX4: A smaller, more fuel-efficient engine may be added to the lineup for 2009.
